In your quest to incorporate your passions into your life, you may realize that you’ll need to change career paths. This transition happened for myself not too long ago and I’m hoping that discussing some of my experiences might help you get a feeling about what challenges you might face and how to prepare for them.
Read MoreWe can get so wrapped up in our work, our passions consume us, that we forget to stop and take a look around. We forget that there is more to life than what we love doing.
Come up for air. Breathe a little. Take a break from driving at your passions, building success, and looking towards making your dreams a reality.
As counter intuitive as this might sound, it's actually a great way to get ahead, to make progress.
Read MoreI'm often thinking of new ideas/inventions to work on, new businesses to start or advise, and countless other "new things" to do. This habit of mine is one my favorites and I'm convinced it's a big part of what I'm passionate about.
It's a great activity, but the other half of my passion lies with actually bringing these ideas from thoughts into action. Thoughts are great, but action is better.
In an ideal world, I would be working with people to create awesome stuff all the time.
Read MoreIt would be awesome if one day you figured out your passions and then the next were living the dream. Either entering a career you loved or starting a hobby that made you smile, it would be great if that's how things worked.

Be open to change. When it comes time to following your passion, change is inevitable. Whether that's changing your job, where you live, or even just changing your mindset, change is a part of it. Embrace it.
Read MoreIf you've come across any of the blogs, articles, books, and speeches about finding your passion, you've certainly heard the advice to quit your job and follow your passion.
While that's great for some, as so many people really don't like their jobs, I think there are plenty of people out there who would benefit from just finding what they're passionate about, and then seeing if there is something in their job responsibilities that will fill that need.
Additionally, what you may find is that while your passion may not lie with your current position, branching out into another department or moving to another company might be all it takes for you to love what you do.
In essence you want to find passion in what you are already doing.
